Bill of Rights

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I am not Congress, nor is my blog associated with or a part of the government of the US in any way. Therefore, if your comment is deleted your First Amendment rights are not being violated. Yes, I support free speech and dislike censorship. However, free speech does not allow you to scream “Fire” in a crowded theater. Likewise, it does not allow you to be a troll in my comment section. It is at my discretion whether or not you are acting as a troll, this includes concern trolling. (<-- See that period there? Seriously, my discretion PERIOD. End stop. Final.)

Troll – (via Wikipedia) In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2] In addition to the offending poster, the noun “troll” can also refer to the provocative message itself, as in that was an excellent troll you posted. While the term troll and its associated action, trolling, are primarily associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels highly subjective, with ‘trolling’ being used to describe many intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context.

Comments that are viewed as hateful, attacking, limiting, or othering will be deleted. It is at my sole discretion whether or not the commenter will be notified why they are being deleted. I want my comment section to be a safe place, please contact me (summerm @ findingsummer.com) if something slips past or I do not realize the meaning of the comment.

Comments that appear to be spam will be deleted.

Basically, my blog, my rules. I wouldn’t let you come into my house and take a shit in the living room, please don’t try to here.
